Role Overview:

As an Associate Engineer, you will be responsible for executing specific engineering tasks related to product design, testing, and documentation for Eaton’s Conveyance products. Working under the guidance of senior engineers and team leads, you’ll create, update, and review essential engineering documentation and CAD designs. This role provides the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with various CAD tools and component design methodologies, focusing on Eaton’s quality standards and design protocols.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Engineering Documentation & CAD:
    • Prepare and revise detailed engineering drawings, 3D models, BOMs, and component specifications.
    • Support the design, development, and manufacturing of conveyance products by maintaining up-to-date and accurate documentation.
    • Work on CAD designs using tools like CATIA, focusing on various component design modules (e.g., sheet metal, cabling, solid modeling, and harness).
  • Design & Development:
    • Contribute to the ideation and quick block modeling of design concepts for different mechanical system components.
    • Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and perform tolerance stack-up analysis for detailed designs.
  • Project & Task Execution:
    • Execute tasks and assignments given by the team leader or engineering manager, adhering to project timelines and deliverables.
    • Work independently on specific design modules within larger system designs, implementing changes or modifications as needed.
  • Standards Compliance & Continuous Improvement:
    • Follow Eaton’s Product Launch Processes and participate in ACES deployment to ensure design compliance.
    • Implement DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) tools, such as DFMEA and Risk Management, to enhance product quality and reliability.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience:
    • 0-1 year of engineering/product design experience, preferably in the mechanical or product design domain.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in CAD software, especially CATIA; experience with PLM tools is advantageous.
    • Familiarity with DFSS tools such as FMEA, Monte Carlo Analysis, and design documentation standards.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
    • Root cause analysis abilities and creative problem-solving mindset.
    • Commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
