Job description

Job Summary

The principal role of the Quality Engineer is to evaluate 8D, PPAP, SCR(Supplier Change Request)submitted by suppliers on the defects reported by Eaton plants. Identify the gaps in submitted documents, communicate back to the supplier & take follow up for correction. To ensure corrective actions were implemented at the supplier end and respective manufacturing process by identifying root causes of defects that occurred in the supplied parts. Ensure development of Supplier Quality System through training.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Evaluate and timely closure of PPAP for all components,8D on the defect from external and internal suppliers, and SCR from external suppliers.
  2. Identify, investigate, and Resolve Supplier Technical and/or System issues related to product or process realization to have effective quality issue closures.
  3. Analyzes Supplier Issues, and uses of statistical and analytical tools for Supplier Improvement.
  4. Implement measures to improve CAPA, Process efficiency and engage the Team to achieve Goals for on-time closures
  5. Troubleshooting flawless closures in coordination with global stakeholders.
  6. Lead projects in a team and act as SPOC for multiple sites or customers.
  7. Assist in data analysis and business growth.
  8. Anticipate customer requirements and provide customer-centric solutions.
  9. Encourage & implement a Continuous Improvement culture within the team & at the supplier end.
  10. Work as a co-coordinator between suppliers and internal functions/plants (Engineering, Plants, Operations, etc.) to clarify requirements, eliminate confusion, and improve closure lead time.
  11. The support process transitions through on-time and accurate documentation,
  12. Understand customer requirements and quick turnaround time on ad-hoc requests.
  13. Monitor and communicate supplier performance of all key suppliers.

Qualifications:

Education level required

  • BE in (Mechanical, Production, Electrical, Electronics or Industrial Engineering) Years and area of experience required
  1. Minimum 4 ~8 years of experience in Supplier Quality & Development, Manufacturing / or Process Engineering.
  2. Experience in working with global customers & suppliers.”

Skills:

Technical knowledge

  • Thorough knowledge of APQP & PPAP process, supplier assessment and onboarding, working knowledge of statistical tools including SPC, Gauge R&R and capability analysis, Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as Machining / Casting / Electrical & Electronics / Sheet Metal & Rubber Hoses are preferred as per the sequence.
