Job Description
- Drive analytical modeling and analysis of Plastic injection molding and tooling concepts design
- Support global engineers and sourcing teams to develop tooling and manufacturing strategies to support product development
- Provide technical support to resolve part quality issues and assist the engineer/sourcing teams with problem resolution
- Utilize available CAE software to analyze part data and communicate findings and recommendations for improvements at different stages of product development
- Support current and future projects with filling, packing, cooling and warping analyses and investigate potential issues and brainstorm solutions for the same
- Develop and complete process simulation from initiation to completion and execute DOE on parts to optimize design and processing conditions
- Collaborate with engineers and tooling teams to gather molded part information/physical trials to correlate the analytical predictions
- Write detailed project reports and present the results as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor in Plastics Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. Masters preferred.
- 5+ years of experience working with any Injection molding software (Moldflow, Sigmasoft and Moldex 3D) and CAD software (NX preferred)
- Relevant experience in injection molding/tooling development will be preffered
- Use of engineering principles, theories, concepts, practices, and techniques associated with scientific molding. A working knowledge and experience with molding machines and ancillary equipment is preferred
- Basic understanding of GD&T for reviewing product prints
- Willingness to work flexible hours
