Job description

Lead Product Cost Down projects of dedicated BU/Division’s portfolio both on existing & new products
Apply Value Engineering, Design to Cost methods to generate technical ideas & challenge internal/external stake holders on savings & the impact, by understanding product requirements
Value Engineering, Value Analysis and Should costing
Influence Make vs Buy (Machining)
Tear down & Bench marking for Design, Value & Cost
Participate in Idea Generation Workshops & contribute to the maximum in terms of creativity/cost down ideas
Lead & Drive cross-functional Idea Generation Workshops based on need
Ensure the process & governance is applied through-out the journey & work for improvement
Can also take part in supplier negotiations to support Procurement Organization & ensure full potential is achieved
Develop new tools/processes required to strengthen existing approach & own them
Travel internationally based on need

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Production or Manufacturing Engineering
5 – 8 years of demonstrated experience in Design to Value, Cost, Manufacturing on Hydraulic products
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and best practices of Hydraulic parts machining, castings & forgings
Must have worked in an organization/team or role where Cost savings is one of the main KPI
Expertise in relevant digital tools like Creo, Inventor, aPriori or similar tools.
Project Management knowledge & experience
Strong communication skills with the ability to deal tactfully, confidently, and ethically with both internal and external stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple complex projects and assignments with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for results
