Position Summary

The Assistant Engineer – Design will be responsible for designing static equipment such as pressure vessels, shell and tube heat exchangers, tanks, hoppers, filters, and other specialized equipment for pneumatic conveying systems. This role requires expertise in calculation reports, assembly and fabrication drawings, and collaboration across disciplines to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Calculations:
   • Perform calculations for static equipment per standards like ASME SEC VIII DIV 1.
   • Design shell and tube heat exchangers using TEMA standards.
2. Software Proficiency:
   • Utilize PV Elite software efficiently for equipment design.
   • Ensure CAD models and drawings adhere to ASME standards.
3. Documentation & Quality Control:
   • Prepare and review procurement engineering documents such as tender documents, technical bid analyses, and purchase recommendations.
   • Guide draughtsmen in creating General Arrangement Drawings (GAD).
4. Collaboration:
   • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical queries.
   • Support cost estimation efforts aligned with Coperion standards.
5. Project Execution:
   • Check and validate design drawings and ensure alignment with project requirements.
   • Provide technical support during procurement and fabrication phases.

Required Qualifications

• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: 1-3 years in static equipment design engineering.

Essential Skills

• Technical Knowledge:
  • Proficiency in designing static equipment such as pressure vessels and heat exchangers.
  • Understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Software Proficiency:
  • CAD tools and PV Elite.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
