Job description
Your tasks
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the development of mechanical design solutions, based on existing mechanical concepts for ECU components and assemblies (molding, stamping, bending and die casted parts)
You will also be responsible for developing 3D CAD models and 2D drawings based on draft concept sketches, ME requirement analysis and BOM preparation based on the Customer data for Build to print projects.
Responsibilities:
- Creation of SAP and BOM structure for new projects and maintaining the mechanical design data through PLM.
- Statistical tolerance, worst case tolerance calculations and application of GD&T.
- Work out component specification and drawing set for supplied parts.
- Support Mechanical component sourcing process from early prototype to production PPAP.
- 3D CAD vehicle packaging and clash studies for new application projects
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and process capabilities for the components and product assembly methods
- Work on sourcing of mechanical components with local/global suppliers
Your profile
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in CAD software, CREO (ProE)/ CATIA
- Knowledge of plastic design, die cast, sheet metal parts
- Knowledge of tolerance calculation and drawing standards
- GD&T application
- Knowledge of manufacturing technologies and product assembly concepts involved in automotive products (e.g., SMT, THT soldering, thermal grease, conformal coating, underfill application etc.)
- Knowledge on HPC, TCU Product design concepts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Tolerance Analysis (WCA)
- Component qualification & release process, PPAP & APQP
- Reliability Testing (Design & Product Validations)
- Problem solving (FTA, 5Why, RCA, 8D)
- SAP –NPP knowledge or should have worked on any other PLM software.
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering
