Job Description
The Global Trainee Manufacturing and Engineering program offers an immersive experience for aspiring engineers to gain technical knowledge, develop competencies, and understand the tire manufacturing process while establishing networks across departments. This rotational program provides a holistic view of plant operations and exposure to global projects, making it an excellent starting point for a career in the manufacturing and engineering domain.
Key Responsibilities
Plant Operations & Technologies
- Gain an introduction to plant technologies, machines, and operational processes through department rotations.
- Learn about production processes, rubber technologies, materials flow, and components.
- Spend 4 months on the shop floor, including shift work, to gain hands-on experience.
Projects & Cross-Functional Rotations
- Participate in manufacturing/engineering projects within the plant.
- Rotate through different departments to understand interdepartmental collaboration.
- Work on central projects focusing on manufacturing/engineering, R&D, and business strategy.
Training & Development
- Follow a central training plan to develop technical skills, competencies, and process understanding.
- Learn about the tire business structure and strategies.
- Build a network with central departments and international trainees.
Marketing & Sales Insight
- Spend 1-2 months in Continental’s Marketing & Sales organization.
- Gain an overview of the M&S strategy and the responsibilities of M&S departments.
- Experience direct sales operations through tire shop work and customer visits.
Qualifications
- Educational Requirement: BE in Mechanical Engineering from a Tier 1 institute in India.
- Strong interest in manufacturing processes, engineering, and the automotive industry.
- Willingness to work on the shop floor and rotate between departments.
- Excellent communication and networking skills.
