Job Overview:
The Candidate at GETC-India provides support for MOC/REACh analysis requests that involve new or revised drawing releases from different Collins Aerospace SBUs. This process focuses on analyzing individual parts, but the gathered data can also be consolidated to generate reports at the assembly level. The position requires the candidate to analyze the Landing systems components and assemblies for Material Compliance against various Regulatory requirements majorly European Union REACh. The incumbent shall receive the package of parts list/specifications/drawings from the business unit focal. He/she shall perform the required input reviews to estimate the efforts required to execute and deliver the Compliance report. The candidate shall be responsible for hosting / attending the virtual weekly status/metrics reporting to the respective Business unit focal, based on the geographical time zone of the counterpart. The candidate needs to possess the aptitude to interpret the organization, industry level procedures, documents, standards, specifications, and engineering drawings. The role requires the effective usage of both in-house & third-party tools and established processes to analyze the Material content against the Global Compliance regulations. It also mandates to coordinate and maintain relevant data and documents as per the quality practices of the organization. The candidate shall demonstrate basic level of project management skills including commitment to stringent timelines against multiple deliverables. The incumbent is expected to be flexible to support the Compliance reviews for other product lines and participate in the material assessments for new product introduction (NPI) as applicable.
Position: Lead Engineer (P2)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Strong skills in the assessment of aerospace products for compliance with Global Environmental regulations e.g. REACh, TSCA, RoHS, etc, and associated reporting.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with Global teams.
- Well-versed with various Aerospace Metallic and non-metallic Materials and related Aerospace standards/specifications.
- Basic knowledge on Aerospace manufacturing & special processes such as Casting, forging, Heat treatment, Plating, coatings, machining methods and related Aerospace standards.
- Strong, hands-on work experience in:
- PLM tools, preferably Teamcenter, and Citrix.
- Developing 3D models from 2D drawings, using suitable CAD software (preferably Catia, NX, Creo) along with good GD&T fundamentals.
- Working experience on at least one commercially available Product Environmental Compliance Management Tool.
- Good project management skills, generate weekly/monthly metrics and report to the leadership team.
- Candidate should be able to quickly learn and adapt and willing to look for continuous process improvement of processes and systems.
- Any exposure in working with Test lab equipment (such as mechanical testing, metallography, SEM) will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge on Additive Manufacturing Processes and technologies will be an added advantage.
- Good documentation Skills
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical /Materials Engineering /Metallurgy.
- Work experience: 3 Years (minimum) relevant experience preferably with an aerospace company, particularly in the area of hazardous chemicals compliance and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Mechanical /Materials Engineering /Metallurgy.
