Job description
Overview:
In this role, the Associate Engineer will actively participate in design, development, improvement and/or sustenance of Aircraft Safety Systems (Evacuation and/or Oxygen Systems) and its components. Provides onsite technical support to operations in Bengaluru. Collaborates with Engineering and Operations cross-functional teams in India, the USA, and Germany.
Position: Associate Engineer – Mechanical Design (P1)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participate in the Engineering Change Management Process – Teamcenter / SAP.
- Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, contractual specification requirements, regulatory requirements, and cost.
- Ability to read, understand, and create technical drawings and sketches.
- Create a 2D pattern drawing by extracting surface data from 3D models.
- Working knowledge of CAD application – CREO 2.0 or above
- Proficiency in CAD software (2D) – AutoCAD, Keycreator and other CAD (3D) – Catia, Unigraphics is desired.
- Should have knowledge in GD&T (ASME 14.5).
- Work experience on PLM tool – Teamcenter, SAP
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Team player with good interpersonal skills to work with cross functional team from Engineering, Operations, and US & Germany customers.
- Attention to detail to ensure high-quality work for customers.
- Provide onsite technical support to Evacuation Systems Operations in Bengaluru (Site1 – Whitefield and Site4 – Aerospace SEZ).
- Experience on CI – Lean and/or 6 sigma / Root Cause Analysis
- Communicates with business units in the USA and Germany (effective written and verbal communication is required for the purpose of achieving successful job performance)
Basic Qualifications:
- 1 to 2 years of Industry experience in Engineering Change Management, Sustenance Engineering, Redesign, CAD Activities, and Manufacturing process.
- Bachelor’s / master’s degree in mechanical engineering / mechanical design
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Process
- Minimum 1 year of experience in CAD application – Creo 2.0 or above
- Knowledge of machine design, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Sound Mechanical Engineering Fundamentals and experience in manufacturing problem-solving.
