Position Overview:

Chandan Steel is seeking a Graduate Engineer Trainee to join its Mechanical Maintenance Department. This role is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates in Mechanical Engineering who are eager to gain hands-on experience in maintaining and optimizing mechanical systems in a dynamic steel plant environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Mechanical Equipment Maintenance:
   • Assist in maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment such as pumps, compressors, conveyors, and furnaces in the steel plant.
2. Inspections & Preventive Maintenance:
   • Conduct routine inspections and perform preventive maintenance to ensure mechanical systems run efficiently and reliably.
3. Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
   • Collaborate with senior engineers and maintenance teams to troubleshoot mechanical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
4. Maintenance Scheduling:
   • Participate in planning and executing maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency.
5. Safety Protocols:
   • Assist in the implementation of safety protocols within the maintenance department, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
6. Documentation & Record Keeping:
   • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive measures.
7. Continuous Improvement:
   • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing equipment performance and reducing operational costs.
8. Training & Skill Development:
   • Engage in training programs to enhance technical skills and deepen knowledge of mechanical systems and industrial maintenance practices.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Skills & Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and fundamental engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with maintenance procedures in an industrial environment is a plus.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools.
• Key Competencies:
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
