Job Summary

The role is responsible for performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling to support engineering activities across Original Equipment (OE), Aftermarket (A/Market), and Development sectors. You will provide technical support for tender inquiries and conduct engineering integrity analysis, ensuring that all work aligns with quality standards and customer specifications. You will work closely with various departments to ensure productivity and effective outcomes. Key activities include mechanical design calculations, computational analysis, CAD modeling/modifications, and technical support for manufacturing and assembly.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work under the guidance of the Chief Engineer, Lead Engineer, and Senior Mechanical Engineers to complete mechanical engineering design tasks.
  • Conduct FEA and modal analysis, including baseplate, pressure boundary, and pipework design analysis across various pump types.
  • Perform ASME VIII calculations, static stress analysis, harmonic and fatigue analysis, and non-linear analysis.
  • Create 3D CFD models from CAD files and perform CFD analysis for product designs.
  • Analyze product performance using CFD techniques, focusing on pump performance, NPSH analysis, and pressure drops in valves.
  • Prepare technical deliverables, such as reports, presentations, and analysis results, for customers.
  • Work with CFD simulation software such as Fluent and CFX, applying various turbulence models, steady-state, transient models, and cavitation modeling.
  • Support team efforts in meeting project deadlines with high quality and efficiency.
  • Assist in standardizing tools, processes, and products to improve efficiency and reduce risks.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • CAE Skills: Proficiency in SolidWorks, Ansys Workbench Mechanical, and Ansys SpaceClaim.
  • Expertise in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), including single-component and assembly-level analysis. Experience with Ansys Workbench is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of turbulence models, steady-state, Multiple Reference Frames, transient models, and multi-physics concepts like gas-liquid interaction, particles, and thermal coupling.
  • Proficiency in CFD simulation software, including mesh generation, validation of simulations with measurements, and data post-processing.
  • Familiar with CAD and CFD model sensitivities, including ANSYS CFX, Fluent, SolidWorks, and Inventor.
  • Team collaboration, mentoring, and flexibility in handling various tasks.
  • Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
