JOB SUMMARY
After Market Sales Support Application Engineer will report to Commercial Operations Manager and the position will be based in Bangalore. The incumbent will provide aftermarket technical and commercial quotation support for Control Valves to the Global Com. Organization in order to generate sales. Responsibilities include preparing, coordinating, and issuing detailed quotations for control valve equipment parts and services in accordance with established company policies and practices. This list is not exhaustive.
This position acts as an expert in solutions related to Copes Vulcan offerings and works in close conjunction with customers and representatives to provide the best possible available solution. Acts as an interface between operational and support departments in exceeding customers’ expectations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates liaison between Global Commercial Operations and all other operational departments.
- Cooperate with Line Manager in regards to inquiries and quotations
- Follows supervisor instructions on methods, techniques, or approaches.
- Process inquiries and assist in resolving customer concerns.
- Prepares techno-commercial proposals aligning with customer requirements for equipment parts and service.
- Maintain records of representative quotations and updates to all stakeholders
- Assist customers and/or representatives on all questions concerning our product specifications
- Attend clarification meetings.
- Facilitate order handover to site facility for manufacturing
- Actively pursues sales targets for valve spares and services.
- Progress order bookings and ensure order throughput is managed in a timely fashion.
- Maintain proper records to permit the formation of weekly quotation forecasts.
- Adhering to all internal procedures related to bid preparation, proposal tracking, order hand-over packages, and internal sales forecasting tools.
- Technical interface with internal and external personnel
- Support of large installed base with responses to technical questions. Understanding valve products and major valve components
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Excellent technical capability.
- Able to identify parts and service requirements across a range of control valve equipment.
- Commercially focused.
- Ability to assess commercial terms and conditions.
- Proven track record of a customer service ethos.
- Interacts with customers by phone or in-person to provide information and to ensure the best technical service possible.
- Exposure to International Business
- Ability to communicate effectively in both spoken and written English.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- B.E in Mechanical Engineering in regular course from recognized Institute/University.
- 2 – 5 years of relevant experience in technical tendering of control valve equipment parts and service. Preference will be for candidates with aftermarket experience
- Excellent communication skills in the English language and ability to interact with global customers and internal stakeholders
- SAP knowledge
