Job Description

  • The Product Development Excellence, Quality and Cost team is focused on helping clients globally achieve product development success. By providing applications and training that enable product groups to collaborate with cross-functional teams, our platform delivers product development programs with higher efficiency and fewer defects.
  • The team is responsible for developing, deploying and training APQP processes and tools.
  • The position is challenged to quickly and correctly identify problems that may not be obvious. The incumbent provides support to practitioners on APQP processes and tools. The incumbent works with cross functional teams to support the development and deployment including communication, testing and training of APQP tools. The position requires individuals to think outside the box on developing new approaches to meeting quality goals in the measure(s) stated.

Job duties

  • Work closely with internal teams and practitioners to develop, deploy, train and support users on APQP processes and tools.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams located globally to understand their requirements, document those and work with IT to develop those enhancements for the tools.
  • Collaborate with the process and application owners in a variety of projects intended to highlight insights related to APQP (product development) application usage, deployment, among other areas
  • Ad-hoc data analysis, data processing, and data visualization

Qualifications

Background / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Masters degree (or equivalent) in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science with minimum of 2-4 years of progressive, relevant experience.
  • Practical, working knowledge of Product Development, Quality, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Industry APQP practices, Requirements Gathering and Quality management system
  • Excellent analytical problem solving and decision-making skills, with knowledge of 6 Sigma tools and techniques
  • Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing or Lean Manufacturing would also be beneficial.
  • Good coaching and communication skills, with the ability to build cooperative working relationships with a wide range of audiences including stakeholders, team members, and suppliers
  • Efficient time management skills, with the ability to work independently
  • Motivated to be a self-starter with strong technical skills and a desire to learn and develop leadership skills.
