About the role

Need a mechanical design engineer to support for new product development and cost reduction projects involving sheet metal design and plastics design. The candidate should have proficiency in 3D mechanical and electrical model creations and knowledge of international standards like IP, NEMA.

Job Description:

  • Hands-on experience in CAD tools such as Creo (Pro-E) / Solidworks.
  • Efficient in 3D mechanical and electrical model creation utilizing CREO/Solidworks for RFI and RFQ proposals.
  • Wide knowledge of plastics, their grades and sheet metal working techniques.
  • Broad experience in plastics injection molding, injection blow molding, injection stretch blow molding and extrusion blow molding.
  • Solid knowledge of injection mold design and application to plastic part design.
  • Generate 3D models of castings, stampings, extrusions, injection molded parts and sheet metal parts
  • Generate 3D electrical harness models utilizing CREO pro-cabling tool/ CREO schematics that adheres to Carrier standards for safety and lessons learned.
  • Good knowledge and application of GD&T and Tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Solid knowledge of international standards like IP, NEMA and IEC and their application in designing concepts and finalization of concepts by working with the suppliers.
  • Strong hands-on experience on Engineering Change management processes (ECR/ECN/ECO) and PLM tools like Windchill.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals and application during concepts generation.
  • Ability to create, read and understand drawings and production process documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven track record of working on plastics design including its packaging.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
  • Working knowledge of data-driven design methodologies such as Six Sigma, ACE etc. Certification is a plus.
  • good communication and interpersonal skills
  • highly driven, self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision
  • Willingness to learn and advance skillset
  • Willing to travel (if and when needed) to interact with offshore team and develop domain knowledge as needed.
  • Develop good working relationships with onsite global teams.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 4 to 7 years of experience in product design and development.
