Role Overview
This position is in the Global Facilities (GFS) business unit, focusing on piping systems design for Food & Beverage and Consumer Products facilities in North America. Reporting to the Mechanical Section Manager, the role involves contributing to the detailed design of piping systems and layouts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and design plant layouts, piping systems, and detailed facility designs using Plant 3D and AutoCAD.
- Create and update project documents such as P&IDs, piping plans, isometrics, and pipe support layouts.
- Prepare and review piping material specifications, valve specifications, and insulation specifications.
- Manage and analyze technical documents, including specifications, calculations, and drawings.
- Collaborate in 3D modeling environments using tools like Navisworks for design integrity and clash coordination.
- Maintain a strong understanding of piping material specifications and international standards (IS, ASME, API, BS, EN).
- Participate in 3D model reviews and as-built documentation using laser scan modeling.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, clients, and vendors to ensure project success.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Plant 3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and tools like AutoPipe or Caesar II.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote).
- Knowledge Areas:
- National and international piping codes and standards (IS, ASME, API, BS, EN).
- Strong analytical abilities for technical document review.
- Familiarity with laser scan modeling and preparation of as-built documents.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
