Role Purpose Statement:

The primary role of the Reliability Manager is to improve the reliability of the physical assets by eliminating unanticipated failures through the development of a sound proactive maintenance strategy, analysis of failure causes, recommending design enhancements, and developing improved repair methods.
The Reliability Manager is responsible for the reliability of all equipment in the area to which he is assigned. He maintains appropriate records and files to permit meaningful analysis and reporting of results or completed work.
Optimization of resources and reduction of total maintenance costs.

Main Accountabilities:

• Ensures that identified elements of the ‘Asset Reliability and Reporting Optimization Program’ (ARROP) and its ‘Standards’ are fully implemented and functioning
• Identifies the critical processes and understands how they affect throughput, quality, environmental, and safety compliance
• Develops, recommend,s and implements strategies for improving the reliability of the manufacturing processes and assets
• Educates other employees about reliability engineering and local reliability implementation
• Ensures that all department work performed is done in a safe manner and that all work areas are maintained to meet or exceed all safety rules, as well as all local, state or provincial and federal safety and environmental laws and regulatory acts
• Has a thorough understanding of the Potential-Failure Curve and its relationship to setting maintenance activity frequencies
• Receives completed Reliability Inspection data sheets and initiates appropriate action
• Maintains the PdM (predictive maintenance) and PM (preventive maintenance) system and process within the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
• Reviews predictive maintenance activities, recommends changes to the type of monitoring, routes, frequency, and equipment monitored
• Monitors operations equipment forms or electronic monitoring systems to trend equipment condition (i.e., temperatures, vibrations, pressures, amps)
• Monitors and performs trending and analysis of all PdM, PM, and CBM (Condition-Based Maintenance) data
• Evaluates the cost/benefit of all new diagnostic technologies
• Monitors the execution and effectiveness of lubrication programs

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related technical field
• Minimum of 3 years working experience in a similar technical role
