BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a “dynamic, results-driven” individual to join as a CAE Engineer – MBD at our Technical Centre India, Bengaluru location.

In this role, the Engineer will be responsible for modeling and simulation of propulsion system dynamics, assessing and optimizing the structural performance of the system using multi-body dynamics tools, and working closely with the product development teams The person in this role must also demonstrate characteristics which foster team progress, show diligence in daily tasks, is able to collaborate with team members, takes the initiative to take on challenging assignments, and has the will and ability to create opportunities.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Perform design assessment of electric driveline subsystems for meeting performance requirements using MBD/FEA tools.
  • Generate dynamic loading information for component-level design from the system model for FEA evaluation
  • Perform model/test correlation and update analysis process as needed
  • Develop new design tools to improve predictive engineering capabilities
  • Write reports to summarize CAE projects
  • Give presentations to internal and external customers
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • MTech/ME in Mechanical Engg preferably with a focus on dynamic simulation
  • Proficiency in multi-body dynamic tools like ANSYS Motion/ADAMS
  • Direct experience applying MBD and FEA tools to the propulsion system
  • Good experience with explicit analysis using tools like LS Dyna
  • A good understanding of shift/actuator systems, park systems, and disconnect systems would be preferred.
  • 3+ years experience with modeling and simulation of time domain dynamics and structural analysis
  • Good analytical capability
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently on projects with timely completion of project targets
  • Ability to work with global teams, manage workload and provide design support
  • Excellent people skills and a history of teamwork required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
