About the role

Your Impact as an Application Technology Engineer

Location: Ranjangaon, Pune (50 Km from pune)

I. PURPOSE OF THE JOB

BITC is a technical center aimed at providing value to customers through services such as new product and process development, lab testing, and value-added services such as tire forensics, new test method development, and advanced problem-solving. Your role is to strengthen these value-added services for customers and to support internal projects by performing the following tasks:

• Coordinate tire forensic investigations and develop the tire lab as a global benchmark by offering and generating detailed insights and expertise.
• Lead the development of new test methods related to steel cord and tire applications.
• Support activities related to customer processability and new product validation.
• Support joint development projects for new customers and internal application technology projects.
• Lead market segmentation studies in India.

II. ROLE DESCRIPTION

Tire Forensic Investigations:

• You will coordinate tire forensic investigations for tires from the Indian and global markets, using your excellent problem-solving skills to analyze failures, prepare reports, and draw conclusions.
• You will be entrusted with designing the forensic test plan for tires and collaborating with the lab team to conduct comprehensive testing.
• You will share the conclusions and hypotheses from forensic investigations with customers and internal stakeholders.
• You will continue to strengthen application knowledge by retrieving and documenting the latest information on tire technology trends from various sources in coordination with other tire technologists in Bekaert and sharing it with the team.

Market Segmentation:

• You will lead market segmentation studies in India to gain an understanding of customer requirements and share market insights with the team.
• You will support new product industrialization by conducting market surveys to collect feedback on tire performance and analyze failures in PCR and TBR applications.

Test method development & Customer processability:

• You will use your expertise in tire technology to lead the development of new test methods related to steel cord and tire applications.
• You will support activities related to steel cord processability at the customer level.
• You will be instrumental in building and documenting knowledge on steel cord processability by troubleshooting and identifying solutions during the industrialization of new products.

Projects:

• You will provide support on joint development projects with new tire customers.
• You will assist in global projects aimed at building up application knowledge.
• You will play a key role in building competency for hose forensic and hose wire testing in BITC.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

Must Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Rubber Technology.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the tire industry.
• excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong ability to approach problems in a logical and systematic manner.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English and able to speak Hindi.
• Possesses excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Prefer to have

• Experience in tire forensic analysis.
• Experience in tire design & development or product industrialization.
• Experience in tire manufacturing, field service, and tire testing.
