Position – Principal Engineer, Projects

Job description

• Overall responsible for planning & design in areas HVAC systems including developing process, standards, inspection procedures & evaluation tools in HVAC Projects. Follow safety standards as per Baxter
• Providing design support to project leaders as follows;
• Providing support to the Project Managers to manage all HVAC aspects of project eg. Process, HVAC, Utility systems and facility mechanical systems
• Supporting the project team in coordinating with cross functional team members from QA, Validation, Facility Maintenance, Calibration, User department – Production, R&D, Admin management of subcontract activities
• Problem Definition / Design input and work with team members
• Confirmation and approval of subcontractor drawings and designs
• Produce design, H&S and contract documentation
• Liaison with subcontractors and suppliers
• Overseeing suppliers and subcontractors on site based activity
• Assistance with production of estimates and costs
• Preparation of completion docs e.g. O&M Manuals, qualifications – URS, DQ, IQ, OQ and PQ, commissioning plans,
• Undertaking Site based commissioning
• To review contractor’ installation methods, shop drawings against design drawings for compliance with design intent & submit to project manager with necessary comments & seek approval
• To review the material submittals with samples for Process equipment electrical, automation and instrumentation, lighting equipment, field devices and other associated MEP materials received from the Sub contractor and ensure such submittals are complied with the approved project specification/standards.
• To assess & report risks associated related to Process and HVAC Installations or general project to project manager.
• To monitor & report to manager on site progress and quality of mechanical and HVAC work in line with contractor’s schedule and on compliance with approved shop drawings and installation schedules.
• To ensure documentation of the filing or logging of the process and HVAC projects related work and documentation is undertaken in line with the project handbook and continually monitor the same.
• To update oneself new Process design concepts and technical developments of systems for applicability to engineering problems or bottlenecks
• To attend project, site progress and any mechanical HVAC services related technical meetings as directed by the project manager.
• To interface with engineering team internally to establish direction for project execution
• To ensure CAPEX cash flow is maintained as per plan given.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Overall 08 -10 years’ experience (Domain Pharmaceuticals, Biotech, Medical Devices, Design Engineering Companies)
• Minimum 5-7 years in Pharma HVAC, Utility and facility design engineering and execution.

Functional Expertise

• Technical expertise in the areas of Pharma HVAC and mechanical systems and design.
• Knowledge of innovative manufacturing technologies.
  Strong in Project Design and documentation.

Educational Qualification

• BE/ Btech in Mechanical
