Job Summary:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and sustaining engineering of Baxter’s Patient Support product portfolio. You will develop innovative solutions, perform engineering calculations, and create mechanical systems while ensuring compliance with production, reliability, and cost requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical Design:
- Design parts, assemblies, and systems, including plastic/sheet metal parts, enclosures, and structures.
- Create proof-of-concept prototypes using fabrication and rapid prototyping techniques.
- Engineering Analysis:
- Perform in-depth mechanical engineering calculations and hand tolerance stack-up calculations.
- Conduct inspections, testing, and qualification of parts.
- Documentation:
- Develop and maintain design records, test protocols, and test reports.
- Generate detailed drawings using geometric dimensional and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Component Selection:
- Participate in the selection of off-the-shelf parts and modules.
- Testing and Verification:
- Contribute to feasibility and verification testing for designs and products.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in product design and development.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and engineering mechanics.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks/NX preferred).
- Hands-on experience in reading and creating mechanical drawings.
- Knowledge of FEA is an added advantage.
- Project Experience: Demonstrated skills through academic or professional electromechanical projects.
