Job Summary
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing solutions for the design, development, and sustaining engineering of Baxter’s Infusion Pumps product portfolio. This position involves working on mechanical systems, performing in-depth analysis and calculations, and optimizing designs for production, reliability, and cost efficiency. You will also contribute to testing, verification, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical Design:
Design mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems, including plastic/sheet metal parts, enclosures, and structures. - Component Selection:
Participate in selecting off-the-shelf parts/modules. - Prototyping:
Create proof-of-concept prototypes using fabrication and rapid prototyping techniques. - Engineering Calculations:
Perform hand calculations, including tolerance stack-ups, based on mechanical principles. - Drawings & Documentation:
Create mechanical drawings with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and document design records, test protocols, and reports. - Inspection & Testing:
Perform inspection, testing, and qualification of parts. Contribute to feasibility and verification testing.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Mechanical Design Knowledge:
Strong understanding of mechanical design concepts, materials, and engineering mechanics. - CAD Proficiency:
Hands-on experience with SolidWorks (preferred) or similar CAD software. - Mechanical Drawings:
Proficiency in reading and creating mechanical drawings. - Analysis Skills:
Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is an advantage. - Electromechanical Projects:
Experience with electromechanical projects, demonstrating practical skills in academics. - Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication, as well as interpersonal and influencing skills.
