Job description:
Detailer 2 is responsible for delivering first time right 3D modeling and 2D detailing of parts, assemblies as per given standard using one or more CAD tools such as SolidWorks with no guidance.
Focus:
Focus is on becoming an expert in modeling and detailing, knowledge and exposure to automation in CAD tools for reducing time and eliminating errors.
General responsibilities:
Work independently for the leader or his assignee and perform the following:
- Generate / modify 3D CAD models and 2D drawings following CAD Best Practices of the division, without any oversight and provide error free deliverables
- Prepare BOM, assembly drawings, EVD’s, schematics
- Keep supervisor and designers informed of progress on assigned tasks
- Maintain project file
- Other duties as assigned
Required skills:
- Ability to understand the requirements clearly, seek clarifications where required before starting a task so as to avoid rework
- Adherence to prescribed CAD standards and best practices
- Expert level working knowledge of CAD software and the modules
- Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, surface finish and material properties
- Use geometric dimensioning and tolerancing in drawings as required and perform stack-up analysis
- Ability to create models and drawings both in imperial and metric units
- Good oral and written communication skills

- Consistent, error-free models and drawings as per the required standard
- Ability to suggest alternatives for accomplishing a task

- Ability to explain the concept to local/overseas team members
- Willingness to learn new tools /skills
- Ability to stretch where required to meet requirements, when needed
Education: Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience: Diploma 2 to 4 years / Degree 0 to 2 years
