Job description

Baker Hughes has a new opportunity for System Engineer – EMST Auxiliaries to join the team in Bangalore, India. The purpose of this role is to perform system Engineering activities for the EMST product line adhering to the business expectations in terms of technical requirements, on-time delivery, cost, and schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out all the design activities related to the EMST product line defined for System Engineer which include P&ID preparation, Datasheets, Specifications, Technical alignment with suppliers, customer comment resolutions on time
  • Completion of ISPO/ VDR as per agreed plan
  • Timely coordination with planners and Project Engineers to ensure the progress is smooth and without major bottlenecks
  • Such activities shall be done in advance with the “Zero Punch list “mindset coordinating with senior experts, other departments in a way that progresses the engineering in a trouble-free way.
  • Keep very good communication and relationship with his/her stakeholders which include Project Engineers, Sourcing, other design departments such as mechanical, instrumentation, controls, etc. and ensure the smooth progress of projects.
  • Ensure no mistakes are passed on to downstream departments and serve to clarify queries on time to make smooth design progress.
  • Participate and own up the action items arising out of Design Review processes and ensure timely completion of the same.
  • Proactively take steps that are necessary in terms of planning alignment, sourcing alignment, etc in order to meet the business expectations on documentation in on-time delivery of documents with the necessary quality.
  • Serve as a single point reference for field issues for assigned projects and SRs and take steps for the timely disposition of field cases.
  • Ensure LL is shared with the rest of the organization in a timely and effective manner on SR trends to improve the system.
  • Develop competencies in system design in emerging areas of digital and contribute to time reduction and quality improvement.
  • Contribute to innovation initiatives in System Engineering in a proactive way.
  • Ensure customer interactions are handled well in all stages of design development, keeping customer satisfaction and company interest in mind and balance both.
  • Participate and contribute actively in design reviews ensuring the technical integrity of Engineering at every stage of the design development
  • Develop strong familiarity in Design Templates and Design practices and ensure they are completely adhered in system design evolution.
  • Contribute to the development of such templates from time to time through involvement.
  • Complete Green Belt certification within 1 year of functioning as a system engineer.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree from an accredited university or College in Chemical / Mechanical / Industrial Engineering
  • 1-3 years of experience in handling System Engineering activities in an industrial environment. (More experience can also be considered)
  • Knowledge Turbomachinery auxiliary systems in terms of functionality and documentation
  • Hands-on with design tools such as P&ID XP, Seal gas system design, Lube oil design tools
  • Strong technical aptitude, including aptitude to work with design tools
  • Hands-on Experience in system design tools
