About the Role

Join the Turbomachinery Team at Baker Hughes, where you’ll collaborate with customers to design and customize energy products. Our Turbomachinery & Process Solutions division provides innovative solutions that optimize energy extraction, production, and processing, promoting a culture of integrity and innovation.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll contribute to developing cutting-edge rotating equipment such as centrifugal and axial compressors, turboexpanders, and reciprocating compressors, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute design and analysis of Turbo machinery to meet customer specifications.
• Support the development of “system engineering” processes for product configurations.
• Drive design review processes, ensuring accuracy, quality, and manufacturability.
• Provide technical leadership in global, cross-functional teams.
• Communicate project progress and significant issues to management.
• Present technical findings in reviews and document technical data for assigned projects.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year in mechanical equipment design and application.

Skills & Expertise

• Proficiency in CAD modeling, FEA, and programming.
• Understanding of material mechanisms, including static, fatigue, fracture, and creep behavior.
• Experience with manufacturing processes (casting, machining, welding, etc.) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to contribute to design and decision-making processes.
• Knowledge of manufacturing, reliability, and material science is advantageous.
