Job description
- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical engineering related activities for all products
- Develops new solutions under guidance and/or in a team setting or based upon precedents in the organizations.
- Works together with leadership within Product Management, Project Management and Technical functions. Specifies needs, communicates about project approach and presents outcomes of research done.
- Delivers products & Solutions as part of a team. Works on cross functional teams. Leads analytical and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods.
- Validate Design with necessary design calculations / stress analysis to ensure design meets the required operating pressure, temperature specifications per ASME/PED standards
- Generate the detail design reports to submit to certification agencies for the product certifications.
- Responsible to finalize the assembly and part level tolerances by performing the Tolerance stack-up Analysis while considering the impact on the overall manufacturing cost.
- Develop final production drawings in accordance with applicable design and manufacturing standards.
- Defining parts, BOMs in any ERP system (preferably SAP) and performing Engineering. change management whenever needed.
- Responsible for preparing test cases and performing necessary testing as part of Engineering verification and validation.
- Responsible for actively participating in necessary design reviews with all the stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree from an accredited university or college in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience in product design & development.
- Hands-on experience on any 3D CAD tools, preferably SolidWorks.
- Hands-on experience in ANSYS structural analysis would be an added advantage.
- Good knowledge in GD&T, tolerance stake-up analysis is a must.
- Good understanding of various materials (metals & plastics) and various manufacturing process (casting, forging, injection molding & machining)
- Excellent Analytical & Problem-solving skills
- Requires mastery of a body of theoretical knowledge.
- Requires a strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant Technologies & Development tools
