Role Overview

The Application Engineer – Industrial Valves will play a vital role in Baker Hughes’ Turbomachinery & Process Solutions business, providing technical expertise and developing optimized solutions to meet customer requirements. This position involves a mix of technical problem-solving and commercial acumen, focusing on project control, creating functional specifications, and delivering optimized technical and commercial proposals for Baker Hughes’ valve products.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Expertise:
  • Provide technical solutions during the pre-ITO (requisition) phase.
  • Conducted analyses and developed technical solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Study customer specifications and technical needs to design optimal valve solutions.
  • Gain domain expertise in industrial valve applications and solutions.
• Commercial Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the commercial team to develop accurate and economically viable proposals.
  • Generate commercial proposals with appropriate pricing and cost details.
  • Support customer interactions to ensure technical solutions align with customer needs.
• Cross-functional Team Collaboration:
  • Partner with departments like engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and commercial to refine solutions.
  • Participate in developing cross-functional expertise across application engineering, development engineering, and manufacturing.

Qualifications and Skills

• Educational Background:
  • BE/BTech or ME/MTech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years in the valve industry.
• Key Skills:
  • Strong communication (both oral and written).
  • Ability to work in a multi-functional, decentralized team.
  • Problem-solving and unconventional thinking.
  • Interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
