Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Bangalore (Whitefield)

Office Requirement: 3 Days office

Experience: 3-5 years

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Electrical engineering/Computer Engineering (BE/B-Tech)

Role Overview:

The mechanical engineer responsible for designing the mechanical packaging of servers and switches.

Primary Skill:

Sheetmetal Design, PLM/Windchill, Creo, Mcad/Ecad

Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical enclosure design of modules from requirement specification.
  • Brainstorming and executing mechanical design concepts in all phases of the development cycle.
  • Bring creativity and contribute to concept design and design review sessions
  • Defining mechanical component outlines and assembly approaches Create models in 3D ECAD SW.
  • Create 2D drawings Interface with board design teams and perform interference analysis
  • Perform dimensional and tolerance analysis
  • Perform structural analysis
  • Performing design validation and characterization from prototype bring-up to product testing
  • Review the design for DFM/DFT Participate in the transition from Engineering to Manufacturing and provide the necessary support

Desired Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience in design of mechanical enclosures for electronic goods.
  • Proficiency in 3D –ECAD SW – Pro-Engineer.
  • Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing.
  • Mechanical design engineering experience of small parts, component design, and assembly experience is a plus
  • Experience in interfacing with manufacturing house – monitor the assembly progress and define acceptance terms.
  • Experience in defining hard tooling plan.
  • Has worked on the tooling cycle of at least one product.
  • Personal Ability to communicate well with cross-functional team members and be able to efficiently collaborate to achieve project goals.
  • Independent and self-learning.
  • Strong interpersonal skills Fluent in English.
