Job description

To support Product care activities as a part of a Technical Support Group team at Atlas Copco GECIA. This role is to provide engineering support to Industrial Air (IAT) product companies.

Mission: To support and act as an active team member of the Technical Support Group team for handling Product care activities. You should have very high affinity towards problem-solving and providing technical support. You should be very interested and innovative to be able to provide quick and accurate technical solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Handle product care JIRA calls.
Provide technical solutions to handle modification requests from Quality, Methods, Production and Marketing teams.
Apply techniques such as VAVE, 8D analysis, DFM and DFA to provide high-quality and innovative solutions.
Provide solutions to field problems and to support retrofitting activities.
Create or modify concept designs.
Create or update technical documents.
Handle engineering change management activities like ECO and DN.
Communicate with overseas teams on a regular basis.
Maintain planning and status sheets of product care calls.
Estimate the amount of effort required for a task.
Attend meetings with cross-function teams, arrange & assist tests and arrange prototyping at local product company.
Record learnings and help to create training documents

To succeed, you will need

Educational requirements/Experience requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum 3-5 years of experience.
Should have basic knowledge of Air Compressors and designing of compressor Packages.
Should understand key contributors to product performance, product quality, and aesthetic value.
Should have a basic understanding of the modularity approach.
Experience of VAVE, 8D analysis, DFA, DFM would be an advantage.
Should be able to read and interpret the International Standards applicable to Air Compressor industry.
Knowledge about the Design of Skid packages for compressors would be an added advantage.
Knowledge of Sheet metal, Piping design, Flange selection, heavy fabrication.
Experience in Product care activities
Experience working on CAD software like Inventor & PLM system 3Dx-Enovia etc.
Knowledge of BOM generation, working on ERP systems.
Experience in doing design calculations at the component level would be an advantage.
Knowledge of MS Office tools like Excel, PowerPoint, etc
Good written & verbal communication in English is a must.
Experience in compressor testing would be an advantage.

Capable of working under time pressure to respect deadlines
Strong technical acumen and application knowledge
