The Role

Job description

To drive the activities of product development in the Engineering Department at Dapodi Plant (Pune), we are looking for the Design Engineer – Energy Conversion Products who will report to Engineering Manager – Energy Conversion Projects. You as part of team will work together with the project leader, project engineers and other designers. You will also collaborate with tests and mechanics in the prototype test lab. Furthermore, you will discuss design, with purchasing, production, and service.

Mission:

To support and act as an active team member of the cross-departmental teams for product development. You should have very high affinity towards the engineering product design and development. You should be very interested and creative to be able to design and develop quality products in lowest possible cost. You will be the driver in making engineering team benchmark teams delivering high quality products and develop sustainable knowledge for future.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The list shows an overview of tasks and responsibilities:

  • (concept-) design in 3D-CAD of energy conversion products and components: piping, sheet metal, packaging heat exchanger, pumps …
  • Collaborate and support project leader & project engineer on energy conversion products
  • Detail design in 2D
  • First strength analysis on designs (FEA)
  • Develop tools/ calculators for design simulations
  • Follow-up of prototype assembly and testing
  • Delegate repetitive and standard design to the internal design studio (Gecia)
  • Set-up of instructions and technical specifications (applying standards and legislations ISO, CE, PED, ASME, …)
  • Support other departments (service, …) in the company with technical information
  • Create and keep technical information updated (drawings, bill-of-material, purchase specifications, and technical agreements)
  • The final release of drawings, BOMs, documentation, and instructions for production

After you have gained knowledge in the products you will cooperate with your colleagues, from production and service, to solve problems related to the technical specification.

What do we expect of you?

Educational requirements

Master’s degree in engineering, preferably Master in Thermal & Fluids or equal through experience.

Experience requirements

  • Total Experience 0-2 Years
  • Experience in Heat Transfer & Thermodynamics
  • Strong interest in concept-design
  • Experience in a design and development environment is a plus

Knowledge

Fluent and good command of English.

A good general technical knowledge
Knowledge and interest in 2D and 3D CAD Inventor.

Affinity with mechanical design and calculations/simulations
Knowledge of Matlab & Excel or other calculation tools is a plus.
