Position – Design / Project Engineer – Reverse Engineering

Job description
The Role
Main responsibilities for Design / Project Engineer – Reverse Engineering are
- Scanning of parts, Post-processing of STL file
- Generation of Complex Surfaces, Sketches from STL file (post-processing)
- Develop the part or product geometry in a CAD model & Generate 2D manufacturing Drawings from the actual part or product
- Disassembly of product, Observe and assess the mechanisms that make the product work
- Dissect and study the inner workings of a product
- Compare the actual product to your observations and suggest improvements
- Compare Resultant CAD geometry with scanned data & generate a comparison report
- Work on PDM/PLM systems associated with engineering release processes and systems
- Ensure execution of tasks in strict compliance with operating procedures and delivery of defect-free output on-time
- Ensure effective and timely communication with customers and other stakeholders
- Flexible to acquire new competencies as required to execute projects
- Ensure smooth and efficient outsourcing of the work to vendors/partner engineers
Experience/ Educational Requirements
- B.E. Mechanical or Production engineering
- 3 to 7 years of Industrial experience in the Design Department
- Hands-on experience in complex surface modeling.
- Expertise in 3D CAD package, like Inventor, Solidworks, Creo, Catia
- Experience in scanning and reverse engineering
- Experience in handling Specialise Reverse Engineering software’s like PolyWorks Modeller & Geomagic Design X
- Experience in the design of Casting/Forged/machined/Plastic parts will be added advantage
- Experience in handling conventional measuring instruments will be plus

- Sound knowledge of Different manufacturing process especially casting/sheet metal/machining/forging
- Knowledge about Different materials and grades, material testing, surface roughness
- Knowledge about the selection of appropriate material based on process & application
- expertise in GD&T & tolerance stack-up analysis
- Understanding of Global engineering standards (ISO, DIN, etc)
- Knowledge of assembly/fitment is a plus
