Your Role

Job Description / Mission

You will report to the D&D Manager and will be fully responsible for design and testing during new product development according to master specifications, improvements and modifications to a certain type of existing products according to market needs and in line with the company’s strategy to localise products. You will also make calculations, bill of materials, assembly instructions and update or change bill of materials as required. You will be responsible for component/part qualification of modifications/changes and improvements.

• The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in Design and Development, preferably in the Air Compressor Industry.
• Involved in the Electrical and Mechanical components design for Portable air compressors and electric compressors including variable drive-operated machines
• Should have ability to select main critical components like electric motor, Drives, alternators, engine, air filters, etc.
• following the whole design process from feasibility to prototyping till production
• validating and selecting new components and new processes with suppliers
• Should have experience in designing structures and enclosures elaborating practical means for validating designs
• Should be able to conduct Tolerance analysis and decide suitable dimensions/tolerance on drawing
• Provide technical support to the sourcing department in phases of product development and supplier development.
• Order all prototype components and follow up closely till the prototype is built and tested.
• Analyze the critical components of the machine and draw specifications in the design phase.
• Conduct Design Reviews at each stage of the product development & update the Product design as per the review comments.
• Develop a detailed plan & follow up to close all activities as planned.
• Support production department and technical services teams on technical issues.
• Deliver the project OTIF (On-Time-In-Full).
• Work with functional teams like Marketing, Sourcing, Production, and Technical Services to collect design remarks and correct them.

To succeed, you will need

Knowledge / Educational requirements

• ME/MTech/BE/BTech in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering

• Should have experience in Electro-mechanical components design knowledge
• PC literacy and proficiency in design software, preferably AutoCAD, or Pro-E.
• Hands-on Exp in Pro-Engineer Creo 2 proficient, windchill.
• familiar with basic MS-office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Good command of English, both oral and written, and listening
• Preparation & release of BOM and Engineering change management
• Working knowledge of DFMEA
