Job description
you’ll be our : Battery Design Engineer
you’ll be based at: IBC, Bangalore
you’ll be Aligned with: Team Lead – Battery Engineering
you’ll be a member of: Mechanical Engineering
What you’ll do at Ather:
- Develop designs for battery components such as casings, busbars, relief valves, cell interconnects etc
- Write detailed requirements for battery components
- To develop innovative test plans that accurately reflect use cases
- Liaise with suppliers to meet internal release and testing milestones
- Define End of Line requirements for the vendor
- Own all interfaces internally and perform Interaction FMEAs
- Draft and execute DVP for the transmission
- Coordinate testing to ensure validation timelines are met
- Use root cause analysis methods such as Pareto chart, Ishikawa, 5 why, FMEA to identify the source of problems. Bug solving as per Field > Assembly > Material as the general priority.
- Come up with reliable, cost-effective, fast solutions within constraints in a production environment.
Here’s what we are looking for:
- Experience in Lithium Ion battery design and development
- Design of electromechanical components
- DFx of electromechanical parts
- Battery manufacturing process knowledge
- Manufacturing process selection
- Awareness of relevant standards for batteries
You bring to Ather:
- B.Tech/B.E/M.tech/M.E. or equivalent with Specialization in Mechanical Engineering/Machine design
- 3-7 years of relevant experience working in transmissions
