Role Overview:
As a Senior Engineer I in Design, you will take charge of developing and executing designs for drone and electro-mechanical parts. This role requires solid expertise in 3D modeling, aerodynamics, material selection, and quality control. You’ll work both independently and collaboratively to manage multiple product designs, ensuring they meet technical and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Modeling:
- Develop solid models and surfaces using SolidWorks, with a focus on drone components and assemblies.
- Create detailed engineering drawings for both parts and assemblies, adhering to ISO 9001 quality standards.
- Design with carbon fiber composites, considering material selection, processing, and finishes.
- Technical Documentation & Compliance:
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation to support designs and ensure quality control.
- Implement DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) for each design, maintaining high-quality standards.
- Independent Design Execution:
- Handle multiple design projects concurrently, meeting performance and functionality requirements.
- Prioritize tasks effectively, demonstrating accountability and reliability in autonomous work.
- Aerodynamics & Structural Knowledge:
- Apply an understanding of aerodynamics and aerostructures in the design process to enhance the functionality and efficiency of drone components.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical Proficiency:
- Strong expertise in SolidWorks, specifically for solid modeling, surfacing, and creating detailed drawings.
- Knowledgeable in aerodynamics, material selection, and finishes, especially for carbon fiber composites.
- Experience with DFMEA and ISO 9001 standards.
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-6 years of experience in design engineering, with a focus on drones or electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Behavioral Skills:
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
