Designation: Engineer I – Verification & Validation (Mechanical)
Job Description:
Asteria Aerospace is looking for a passionate engineer to be a part of the Verification & Validation team and perform component testing and validation, technical investigation, troubleshooting, and engineering documentation for new product development in Unmanned Aerial Systems.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Develop the V&V plan and procedure for mechanical components at component level, Sub-system, and System level testing.
- Develop the test Jigs/benches required to validate mechanical and electro-mechanical components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure comprehensive test coverage and product robustness.
- Development of test setup which will simulate the different environmental conditions as per requirement.
- Evaluate and ensure that prototypes and production units meet the requirements and are as per the defined quality standards.
- Document the test plan, procedures, test results, and the track of drawings used for creating the test Jigs/ benches.
- Document and report test results: Record detailed test data, observations, and outcomes. Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing the test results, including any identified issues, deviations, or improvements needed. Communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Test, Identify, and define the life cycle of the mechanical components and hardware involved in UAS.
- Continuously improve validation processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support technical documentation as required.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical /Aeronautical/ Aerospace and Other applicable engineering fields.
Relevant Experience: 2-4 Year
Desired Characteristics:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical testing methods, tools, and analysis of the same.
- Proficiency in CAD software like SolidWorks etc. and analytical tools.
- Expert knowledge of material characteristics, product life cycle and design principles.
- Knowledgeable in fabrication, material removals and rapid prototyping.
- Ability to innovate and improve validation processes and methodologies continuously.
- Experience with UAV systems and components, including familiarity with drone-specific challenges and requirements.
- Experience in UAV assembly/ disassembly process and repairing of the same.
- Flying experience with Multirotor/Fixed-wing UAVs is a plus.
- ESS testing knowledge as per mechanical parameters is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, time management, and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
