Job description
- Develops, executes, and publishes new product BOMs under the direction of management for moderately complicated assembly and product architecture. Implements innovative product production, testing, and sourcing methods in collaboration with senior NPME.
- for moderately complicated assemblies, creates and verifies operation method sheets (OMS).
- Partners with Senior NPMEs in the Master Layout (MLO) and Digital Mock Up stages of the 3D solid model virtual analysis process (DMU). Participates in design reviews, giving the new product development team comments on DFA, DFAe, DFTp, ITO, and operational efficiency improvement to support cost, quality, and cycle time targets.
- Executes change control procedures, such as Non-Standard Requests (NSRs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Change Control Board (CCB), Supplier Problem Sheets (SPSs), and Engineering Specification Waivers, in collaboration with the Senior NPME (ESWs).
- Documents product-related issues/enhancement opportunities.
- Assists in determining root cause analysis.
- Leads the Managed Build process for assemblies/modules.
- Provides technical support and training to Applied and contract manufacturing resources, including piece part suppliers related to assemblies/modules.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
The commercialization of newly developed goods and features, from early concepts through volume production operations, is the responsibility of the NPME (New Product Manufacturing Engineer). Reviewing, assessing, and changing engineering designs to improve manufacturability at the supplier level and in Applied Materials production operations are part of the daily activities. The generation of engineering change orders, which provide design improvements and kit structure to facilitate manufacture, is a component of the function. In the course of its duties, the NPME frequently uses modeling and drawing software, primarily Unigraphics/NX. Additionally, they use Teamcenter to access designs throughout the whole process of developing a new product. An additional requirement for the position is knowledge of internal production procedures used by suppliers, as well as the capacity to interact with manufacturers and suppliers to address problems NPME role.
