General Description

• The candidate will have several direct & indirect employees.
• Under the general direction of the Plant Head / Maintenance Head, the incumbent is responsible maintenance of the Hydro-Generator & auxiliaries.
• The ideal candidate will be constantly assessing the systems in place to ensure that they are both safe and operating efficiently.
• This candidate will be comfortable managing a team and conducting analysis to highlight areas for improvement.
• Thie ideal candidate should have experience in erection/commissioning/installation/maintenance of hydropower plants of at least 100 MW capacity.
• The candidate should be experienced in Generator maintenance of hydropower plants of atleast 100 MW capacity

WHAT YOU’LL DO: Write the purpose for which the job exists

• Prepare detailed resources for each activity of generator assembly and its auxiliaries within the limits and reasonable backup, Prepare the division of work among the group of supervisors and leading one critical generator assembly.
• Stator assembly, Rotor assembly, Generator upper bracket, Generator lower bracket, Bearing assembly and alignment, Generator auxiliaries, Generator alignment, Static and Dynamic Balancing of unit, Generator vibration analysis, Generator field tests etc.
• Prepare project specific erection procedure for all generator installation keeping site situation in consideration and, review with site team.
• Prepare risk assessment and action plan for every activity of generator maintenance and assembly, get confirmed by EHS representative and review.
• Performing troubleshoot and breakdown / preventive / shutdown maintenance for bringing down Generator and Generator auxiliaries down time to minimum level.
• Vibration analysis and in-situ dynamic balancing of the pump sets.
• Preparation of SOPs and Local Operating procedures for assigned systems.
• Implement the organization equipment maintenance plan (Yearly and Monthly).
• Implement daily work plan to conduct preventive maintenance effectively and efficiently.
• Plans and coordinates plant maintenance and inventory requirements as required to maximize plant availability and optimize cost effectiveness.
• Prepares and maintains accurate plant documentation (maintenance checklist, observation sheet, preventive maintenance plan etc.), to assure proper historical records and reporting of plant maintenance is completed.
• Preparation and review of root cause analysis reports, tripping report, annual maintenance report, monthly MIS.
• Support the System Safety Process.
• Manage a work force that is motivated, flexible in skills, cross-trained and technically astute ensuring an effective and motivated team.

YOU’RE GOOD AT: Write the details of the core area of expertise required to possess by the candidate.

• Erection, commissioning & maintenance of Large Hydro Generator and Hydro Turbine, Installation of Step-Up Generator Transformers, Auxiliary transformers, Installation of BOP (M) equipment, Installation of Isolated Phase Busduct etc.
• Knowledge of erection & maintenance procedure of, Turbine (Francis and Pelton), its auxiliaries, installation and alignment of fluid film bearing will be an added advantage
• Experienced with use of Microsoft Office tools, with emphasis on Excel, Word, Power Point etc.
• Demonstrated leadership, competent oral and written communication skills are required.
• Other skills required include knowledge and the ability to read and understand technical manuals and drawings.
• Requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.)
• Incumbent must adhere to established policies and procedures.

YOU BRING: Experience & Qualifications (Provide information about knowledge required to delve into this role)

• Minimum Qualification: Regular B.E. / B Tech in Mechanical Engineering from reputed government, private, autonomous institiute recognised under AICTE, New Delhi.
• Overall 08 – 12 years of experience in a hydro power plant out of which a minimum 03 – 05 years’ of experience in Generator maintenance of not less than 100 MW capacity.
• Should have experience of erection / commissioning / installation in hydro power plants of 100 MW capacity.
• Adept at managing maintenance of various equipments for reducing downtime and enhancing operational effectiveness of equipment.

PREFERRED: Information about the knowledge required for the job which is not mandatory to possess.

• Microsot office tool.

YOU’LL WORK WITH: Provide details pertaining to the reporting structure (Direct/Indirect).

• Reporting will be Direct – To Plant Head / Maintenance Head
