Job description

Executing Basic & Detail Design of Large Hydro Turbines for LH & SR projects
Ontime quality deliverables of Basic Design, Calculations, Detail Design component manufacturing & assembly drawings, BOMs by systematic review, verification & validation
Continuous Design planning with available resources and regular monitoring of delivery schedule. Expedition by enforcing mitigation measures whenever required to maintain the schedule/ Design cost within agreed commitments
Regular interaction & reviews with Hydraulic & Basic Design CoC locations to evolve optimized design within contractually guaranteed specifications
Cross-functional Technical support to planning, procurement, manufacturing, assembly and site commissioning to ensure trouble-free Design execution
Handling customers’ queries during project execution. Preparation and getting approvals from customers/ consultants of documents related to Turbine Design.
Mentoring Team within the department for continuous improvement of product & processes.
Supporting HoD in cost out & systematic improvement internal projects
To be able to handle and control complex/ troubleshooting situations and give speedy results.

B.E/ M.E./M.Tech – Mechanical Engineering from reputated Institute
At least 10+ Years of experience majorly in handling Hydro Turbine Designing and its layout at reputated companies
Thorough knowledge of basic design concepts, principles of mechanical & Hydraulic design of Hydro Turbines and overall layout & interfaces is a must
Understanding of materials used and manufacturing processes involved in the construction of Hydro Turbine
Experience of technical troubleshooting and technical support
Hydro Turbine Design & Engineering along with the whole product life cycle
Solid Mechanical & Hydraulic engineering fundamentals
Astute designer’s aptitude & approach
Knowledge & experience of using techniques, CAD, Analytical & FE Calculation tools & processes (NX, SAP, Standards, Calc. tools, etc.).
Knowledge & experience of Hydro Turbine Design, procurement, Quality control, Manufacturing, Erection & Commissioning aspects.
Knowledge & experience of dealing with external agencies.
Technical project management skills along with resource management Skills
