Job description

Executing basic and detail design of Generators for all LH & SR generator projects
On-time and error-free release of basic design layouts, calculations, generator detail design component manufacturing drawings, BoMs, purchase specifications
Continuous design planning with available resources and regular monitoring of the design schedule. Expediating by enforcing mitigation measures to maintain the schedule and design cost within agreed commitments
Optimization of the Generator layouts, designs & constructions considering contractual performance requirements
Leading and developing Generator Layout & lead engineering portfolio at HIN
Technical support during generator assembly & testing at the shop, generator erection & commissioning at site, generator component manufacturing related issues at our shop and suppliers
Handling customers’ queries during project execution. Preparation and getting approvals from customers/consultants of documents related to generators.
Getting necessary reviews & approvals of designs from Generator CoC, Weiz, Austria. Handling queries and managing design relationship with technical experts in Austria
Acting as a local expert on all hydro generator layouts & construction-related issues. (e.g. expert advice to management / HoD)
Continuous improvement of products & processes and mentoring of the assigned team for their development

Experience in handling Generator layouts and/or designs of large rotating electrical machines at reputed companies.
Thorough knowledge of basic design concepts, principles of the mechanical design of generators, and overall layout & interfaces is a must.
Understanding of materials used and manufacturing processes involved in the construction of large rotating electrical machines and especially hydro generators.
Experience of technical troubleshooting and technical support
Solid Mechanical engineering fundamentals
Astute designer’s aptitude & approach
Knowledge & experience of using techniques, CAD, Analytical & FE Calculation tools & processes (NX, SAP, Standards, Calc. tools, etc.).
Knowledge & experience of hydro generator D&E, procurement, quality control, manufacturing, erection & commissioning aspects.
Knowledge & experience of dealing with external agencies.
Ability to review design output with regard to quality, time & cost domains.
Technical decision making and technical project management skills
