Job Summary:

To aid in the business development of Altair Software in the Academic Market (Universities) and promote usage of Altair Software among Academics (Students, Professors, research scholars etc.) The global academic program team focuses on business development of Altair products among universities worldwide and provides free student edition and training material for students globally, we support student teams in all student competitions.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop Training materials and Knowledge base for the Altair products as per requirement (domain specific) Updating existing training material (Training Videos, tutorials etc.) to share learning and enable other students to be able to use the tools. Write technical chapters and edit eBooks on theory and practical aspects of Technical topics.
  • Creating Mechatronics demonstrators and training materials, related to drones, electric vehicles and mechatronic devices.
  • Support student teams in all student competitions especially – Shell Eco-Marathon, Formula SAE, Baja SAE, Clean Snowmobile Challenge, Global Solar Challenge, SAE Aero Design Challenge, ENLIGHTEN, Vertical Flight Society, Hyperloop etc.
  • Interact with students and academic users of Altair tools worldwide, including student teams, hold workshops webinars and trainings for them. Etc.

What You Will Need:

Basics:

  • Pursuing Master’s Degree or bachelor’s degree (Mechatronics, Mechanical, Aerospace)
  • Pursuing Electronics degree with Mechatronics specialization and expertise.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must, with highest demonstrable English proficiency.
  • Ability to collaborate with all levels of technical users and management
  • Excellent presentation skills, Aptitude for solving engineering problems, Energetic; driven to succeed with Strong interpersonal skills
  • Domain Knowledge on Math Modelling & System Simulation, Co-simulation, Mechatronics and Robotics, Control Systems, and its applications

Preferred:

  • Software Programming expertise on one or more of either the scripting tools like Altair Compose, OML, Octave, MATLAB or SCILAB.
  • Experience using Model Based design tools like Altair Compose, Activate, MATLAB/SIMULINK/, HILS and LabVIEW or similar tools.

Student Intern – FEA Solver Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Documenting new features for Altair OptiStruct Online and Installation Help, including new feature and defect testing
  • Ensure product quality during the development. Work on Altair OptiStruct Product Validation to evaluate the quality of the program based on rigorous new feature and defect testing.
  • Building new problems for Altair OptiStruct Verification Problem Manual, Example Problem Manual & Demo Problem Manual.
  • Working on Altair OptiStruct Solver Interface Testing in HyperMesh, HyperView & SimLab.
  • Work with the Process Improvement team to drive process enhancements and improve process automation.
  • This position requires a high level of initiative, great attention to detail, ability to learn quickly, ability to work with a global team, and possession of excellent communication skills.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent English writing and speaking skills is required.
  • Familiar with system, software and validation development life cycle.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Engineering student in Mechanical/Aerospace/Automobile/Civil or relevant Specialization student looking for an internship for a period of 3 to 6 months.
  • Knowledge of HyperMesh or equivalent FEA pre-processing tool, with 1-2 years of experience is required.
  • Knowledge of OptiStruct, Nastran, Abaqus or equivalent FEA solver, with 1-2 years of experience is required.
  • Windows Microsoft Office tools, like MS Word, MS Excel & MS PowerPoint is required.
  • MATLAB & Python knowledge is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Linux/UNIX environment and basic scripting skills is a plus.

Training Development Specialist – High Performance Computing

Job Summary:

The Training Specialist is responsible for creation and maintenance of course package materials. This process may include teaching classes to test new material and obtain feedback to edit existing materials. The creation of new course packages includes working with Program Managers and Subject Matter Experts, as necessary, to gain appropriate knowledge and content. Maintaining the training material requires working with Program Managers and Subject Matter Experts to ensure the latest features and enhancements are captured appropriately by the course packages.

This role will work with a variety of teams within the Altair suite of products. The primary responsibility will be working with the Enterprise Solutions team on the High-Performance Computing suite of products. The role will also work with other teams for additional course package development as necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Create new training material as needed.
  • Revise materials as content and application changes dictate, including performing needs analysis on course effectiveness and exercising diligence to maintain updated, efficient materials that engage and energize learners.
  • Work with SME’s to obtain feedback on new or updated material.
  • Maintain consistent formatting across all material.
  • Establish and adhere to milestones contained within courseware project plans.
  • Ensure comprehensive editing for grammar, usage, consistency, accuracy and style.
  • Proactively identify and resolve gaps within the content development support structure and improve workflow processes.
  • Teach classes as necessary, both internally and externally to customers.
  • Identify and master new features as they are released.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required, Computer Science or Engineering Degree (Mechanical or Aerospace highly preferred)
  • Classroom training experience
  • Training material creation experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Ability to write effective copy and instructional text
  • Initiative and independent judgment to search out solutions within the context of broad goals and long-term objectives
  • Team player with the ability to work and communicate effectively across multiple departments and levels of management
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly when tackling unfamiliar tasks and requests
  • Working Knowledge of Altair’s High-Performance Computing suite of products preferred
