Job description

1) JOB PURPOSE: WRITE THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH THE JOB EXISTS (IN 2-3 LINES) (MAX 1325 CHARACTERS)

To handle production of Continuous Cast Rod (CCR) at the CCR 3 plant at Dahej Unit during assigned shift.
To implement SOPs to ensure compliance with quality, safety and environment standards and sale of highest quality of product in the market.

2) Job Context:

Copper concentrate purchased from the market contains 27% copper which undergoes multiple stages of refining (63%, 98% and 99.5% purity) in order to obtain the purest form of Copper (99.8%). Copper cathode manufactured in the refinery serves as the primary raw material for the Continuous Cast Rod (CC Rod) Plant. The cathode is melted and cast into Billets. These Billets are then rolled in the form of rods through an upgraded production line with the latest technology supplied by SMS Germany to produce CC Rods of different diameters (8mm, 21mm, 23 mm, 26mm). 26mm is an innovation that is being manufactured for the 1st time in the world. These are then coiled and packed into standard rolls (3-4 tonnes) with weather proof packaging. The finished products, sold in the market are expected to comply with stringent international quality standards and failure to comply with these standards leads to rejection of material, causing immense loss. This role holder is expected to oversee operations and production as per target and quality parameters during assigned shift. The critical element of this role is to ensure good housekeeping, seamless operation and achievement of quality parameters during assigned shift.

Job Challenges:

The latest technology installed for the 1st time in India faces the challenge of finding manpower with the requisite experience of operating a similar production line. Freshers have to be trained internally for the purpose of efficient and safe plant operations.
Compliance to stringent quality standards for finished rod products sold in the market in view of emerging stringency of new customer expectations.

3) Minimum Qualification: B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering)

Qualifications: Bachelor Of Engineering
Minimum Experience Level: 4-8 Years
