Job description
Job Purpose:To ensure continuous & uninterrupted supply of engineering spares, capital goods, services and consumables for critical areas like Safety & environment, Energy Centre, Recovery, IT, Pumps, Material handling equipment, Structure & other miscellaneous department from Indigenous sources or through Import in cost effective manner, at the same time meeting the delivery, quality and inventory norms, so as to support smooth operation of plant as per requirement.
Job Context:
Grasim pulp & fibre business has grown over a period of last 50 years and has matured in terms of cost, quality & productivity. Today Grasim Viscose fibre is branded as `Birla Viscose and is considered as most environment friendly textile grade viscose fibre known for its feel & comfort. To ensure continuous & uninterrupted supply of engineering spares, capital goods, services and consumables for critical areas like Safety & environment, Energy center, Recovery, IT, Pumps, Material handling equipment, Structure & other miscellaneous department at BC whose present capacity is 400+ TPD.
Major Challenges:
a. To ensure continuous & uninterrupted supply & provide right material, at right time and always of right quality.
b. To arrange material at any time in case of urgency to avoid breakdown & direct production losses.
c. Procurement of material/equipment within Budget. d. Item identification & discussion with different vendors for development of alternate source of supply for production effective & cost effective manner with right/desire quality assurance. e. Co-ordination with user department to get complete requirement altogether at one time to get cost benefit as well as time savings.
f. Statutory compliances for Service contracts.
g. Freight amount payment to vendors in case of Deli very on Ex-works basis.
h. Ensure in time payment to vendors.
i. Lesser number of material rejections.
j. Follow 5S & ensure proper record keeping.
Key Result Areas/Accountabilities:
I. Procurement: Procure engineering Items & ensure continuous & uninterrupted supply & provide right material, at right time and always of right quality.
1. To ensure timely procurement of following engineering material, services, contacts and consumables (capital & revenue) at optimum cost and at right time for effective operation of Plant.
2. To reduce delivery lead-time by developing nearby potential vendors.
3. To inform lead-time to user departments.
4. Analyzing market situation with respect to price index for different commodities.
5. Annual Rate Contracts (ARC s) for consumables & timely renewal of ARC.
6. Updation & review on monthly MIS of department.
7. To execute order involving following activities: Interact with user for their requirement received through PR.
II. Vendor Development, Evaluation & rating: Exploring New Vendors & create healthy database
Call offers & compare them for facilitating negotiation. Assist user department in technical evaluation. Involve in technical & commercial discussions with vendors. To carry out internal working, thereby sending Counter Bids to the vendors. Prepare approval note highlighting the facts and process followed. Prepare check and forward orders for signature as per delegation manuals. Follow up for timely execution of PO. Follow up for timely delivery, amendment/cancellation required if any. Advising for timely execution of advance payment, PBG/BG to suppliers & submitting the filled affidavit from to accounts. Follow up for import orders & close coordination. Vendor Development, Evaluation & rating: Exploring New Vendors & create healthy database
Cost Control : To implement & initiate the cost reduction plan/measures
- Interaction with other group units as well as outside group for current price trends.
- Keep our-self updated about market trends.
- To initiate costing.
- By introducing new vendors, thereby creating competition with CHA for clearance & timely delivery at site.
Skills Required:
- Only B.Tech/ B.E. Mechanical is required, In addition MBA is preferable
- Knowledge of SAP MM is must.
Qualifications: Bachelor Of Engineering,Bachelor Of Technology
Minimum Experience Level: 5-7 Years
