Design Engineer – Wiring Harness

Relevant Experience Required:

• Automotive OEM / HV Wiring harness or Battery Tier 1/ Engineering Service Industry
• Knowledge in other High Voltage electrical & electronics commodities.
• Wiring Harness 3D and 2D design (Electrical routing, Flattening, Form-board, DMU checks, etc.)
• Design of mechanical brackets(Sheet metal), Plastic Cable Channels and other attachment means for electronic modules, lightweight and low-cost
• 3D modeling, drawing creation/check and GD&T

Skills Required:

Technical:

• Good hands-on experience of UGNX 3D & 2D.
• Hands-on experience of CAD Data Management (Team center, etc.).
• Working knowledge in 3D models and drawing creation in UGNX.
• 3D modeling of the wiring harness.
• Good Knowledge in GD&T Tolerance.
• Design of mechanical brackets, Plastic Cable Channels and other attachment means for electronic modules, lightweight and low-cost
• Technical knowledge of tooling methodology for cast and formed parts.
• Experience in wiring Harness Design and Development.
• Exposure to automotive requirements. Basic knowledge of large casting components.
• Knowledge in other automotive electrical & electronics commodities.
• Knowledge on electrical components, and electrical circuits like Fuse boxes, Junction boxes, Etc…
• Working Knowledge of the Vehicle and Engine Development Process.
• Applies manufacturability, Design for Assembly and integration knowledge to parts and subsystems designs.
• Analyze and document clash conditions or clearances between Wiring Harness, Attachment hardware, and adjacent components in the Vehicle.
• Knowledge of High Voltage Components such as connecters, fuses, etc.

• High level of Interpersonal Skills to work effectively with others including global partners.
• Proactively communicate with all stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills involving the ability to work effectively cross-functionally, sharing ideas, designs, and views.
• Strong written and oral communication skills necessary to lead meetings.
• German Language would be added advantage”
