You will be working as a R&D Engineer and will be part of Electrification Business Area for Distribution Solutions division based in Nashik, India. In this role you will be reporting to R&D Team Lead and will be responsible for contributing to ABB’s success with technology, software, product and system development. Identifying and implementing innovative solutions to relevant problems. Providing ideas and is able to work both independently and as a part of a Research & Development (R&D) team.
Your responsibilities
- Preparing mechanical design concept and full CAD 3D models. Performing detailed design and completing detailed 2D drawings
- Designing of sheet metal parts, casted and machined metal parts and molded plastic parts
- Designing reviews in close communication with other TC project managers and technical experts
- Designing and developing the circuit breakers. Designing validation through calculations, analysis and testing
- Developing project IP strategies, identifying and managing risks in research and development (R&D) projects
- Designing and developing the products, performing a variety of complex technology or engineering assignments which typically require the use of advanced and innovative techniques
Your background
- B.E/ B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 4-6 years of relevant experience in design and development of medium voltage indoor AIS / GIS switchgear is preferred
- Excellent competence with CAD (pro-e, Solidworks) technical drawings and PLM systems is required and Solidworks or Windchill is preferred
- Excellent Communication skills, written and spoken
