Position – Quality Engineer

Job description

• This is a Quality Engineer role, reporting to the Quality Manager in Business Area – Motion located in Baroda. You will be responsible for deploying and supporting a quality culture within local ABB, by assuring and controlling quality with systems, tools and teams to exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations.

Your responsibilities

• Supporting and maintaining the quality management system of the local unit.
• Assisting in the implementation of effective internal controls to verify that processes will meet customer and stakeholder requirements.
• Validating that control plans are applied and effective in mitigating known risks.
• Representing the voice of the customer within local teams and challenges the teams with customer experience feedback and input to decisions.
• Enabling and coaching employees to evaluate risks, problems, and solutions from a customer/stakeholder point of view.
• Utilizing the local quality management system to provide the local teams with procedures and documentation that sufficiently describe their work activities.
• Leading the local teams in the application of an operational approach and system of process management that is continually evaluated for effectiveness.
• Performing audits and uses quality data analytics from all parts of the operation to identify risks, failures, and non-conformances within the local operations, suppliers, and customers.
• Providing quality training to local teams enabling them to define and document processes that are efficient and under control.

Your background

• Diploma/ B.E in Mechanical.
• Minimum 4-6 years of experience in quality function.
• Must have experience in casting, machining, welding, fabrication processes.
• Desirable – certified six sigma yellow/ green belt and internal auditor – ISO 9001.
• Candidate should be from light, medium, or heavy engineering, electric, automobile, industrial equipment industry.
