Design Engineer

This is a Design Engineer role, reporting to the Engineering manager in the Motion division located in Bangalore. Create and modify the standard designs of equipment, systems, or installations, including standard specifications for manufacturing, fabrication, or construction for assignments classified as low to medium complexity by applying standard design concepts.

Your responsibilities

• Designs engineering solutions, including drawings and calculations according to contractual specifications.
• Creates or reviews engineering drawings, specifications, and plans required by manufacturing, fabrication, or construction.
• Contributes to design reviews and design verification, and modifies the design, as necessary.
• Contributes to the preparation of specific aspects of design assignments to meet the contractual obligations, while adhering to relevant standards, safety, and quality.
• Participates in project meetings and presents specific aspects of design assignments.
• Actively contributes and shares experiences in workshops pertaining to engineering design, tools, and processes.
• Shares best practices Lessons-Learned documentation across different projects.
• Uses standard processes and tools, and assists in developing new processes and tools for the reuse of technical solutions.
• Ensures Bill of Material (BOM) for the project meets contractual obligations; and project gross margin requirements by not generating Project Left-Over Material (PLOM).
• Identifies and implements variation requests to support contract claims based on the approval from the Project Manager.
• Follows work plans and cost estimates provided by the Project Manager and ensures quality deliverables on time and at targeted cost.

Your background

• B.E. Mechanical with 3-8 years of experience in electrical rotating machine design.
• Knowledge of 2D & 3D drafting modeling.Knowledge of rotating electrical machines and mechanical design.
