What you’ll do:
Primary responsibility of this role is NPI & SE Engineering of GEIS products that will penetrate the national and international markets. This position’s responsibilities entail the identification and execution of NPI and SE initiatives
It also requires having strong communication skills, drive, strong engineering acumen with the manufacturing process and CAD design package related to things, and enthusiasm in the product design arena.
Ensure product compliance with global design standards like IEC, UL, NEMA, or any other compliance standard.
Has a good understanding of best design standard practices and design requirements
Support system/component sizing, designing, simulation, and testing activities to meet power distribution and controls panel requirements
Modify existing products to support customers, manufacturing, applicable regulatory and industry standards, and market requirements through the Change Management process.”
- Work in multiple programs/projects related to NPI and SE to achieve the business goals and Profit Plan objectives.
- Own end-to-end projects and deliverables, including product conceptualization, detailing, design validation & testing of products.
- Work in a cross-functional/ multi-disciplinary team in making technology/ engineering decisions required for project execution.
- Designs, validates, and releases systems, sub-systems, and components independently as well as through a team of engineers. Creates CAD drawings- detailing, 3D models, assemblies, etc., and ensures release in PLM / ERP system per project plan.
- Contribute to creating test plans in accordance with IEC/UL standards. Create test object requirements, plan for assembly, and finalize test parameters & instrumentation. Responsible for conducting tests by ensuring the deployment of standard practices.
- Contribute with leads to create Intellectual Property documents (IPs) around new product design concepts/ideas.
Qualifications:
- BE / M.tech – Mechanical Engineering
- 0-3 yrs. Product Design, VAVE is good to have.
Skills:
- have a good technical knowledge and experience in the design and development of Mechanical products like sheet metal products (preferred), cast/machined products, plastic products, and relevant design practices and standards.
- Experience hands on experience in creating part detailing and designing, drawing creation, 3D modeling of parts/assemblies, 2D dimensioning and tolerance of parts, prototyping, and validation
- Analytical skills must include design/ selection, stresses, fatigue life, component fits, and establishing efficient/ergonomic methods of assembly, Design calculations.
- Should be aware of GD&T, DFMEA, and DFMA.
- Should have good knowledge of different product design tools, environments like CAD, Solid Works, and SAP.
- An understanding of GEIS Industrial products would be an added advantage
