The team you will be a part of
The Engineering team discovers, develops, and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans, and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.
This role in summary
Responsible for the design and development of component(s)/module by preparing concepts in Mechanical Structures and thermal. Builds on organizational/process knowledge, understands business needs. Solves simple problems, analyzes, and provides solutions/ alternatives. Moderate guidance and direction needed.
Your responsibilities will include
- Responsible for generating and recommending the developed engineering concepts and effectively communicating to different stakeholders during Project/ Design Reviews as part of the product development process.
- Drive engineering calculations as required, supporting Design integrity.
- Responsible for converting Consumer Requirements into Engineering Requirements with the support of SMEs.
- Perform /Support/contribute DFMEA, Tolerance stack up analysis, and apply DFx (DFA, DFM, DFR, DFS, DFSS) methodologies during product design and development.
- Create/Contribute product/subsystem-specific test plans as per standards to get the design changes approved.
- Create Model Shop / Lab requests / Simulation requests and support in Virtual/ Physical build as applicable
- Utilize the PLM (Windchill) system for design release, documentation control, and workflow.
- Understand and review SIR and BOM data to calculate the feasibility of design concepts and solutions.
- Understand and contribute to the PPAP process.

- B.Tech – Mech/ BE Mech
- M.Tech – Mech/ ME Mech
AGE
EXP
- B.E / B.Tech : 3 – 6 years in the product development industry
- M.Tech : 0 – 3 years in the product development industry
- Example:-Automotive Industry/ Appliance industry
Preferred skills and experiences
- Release Product / Subsystem / Module / Component designs & drawings as per the requirements in terms of cost, quality, and timelines of the project.
- Product Design tools – Concept Selection Matrix, DFMEA, Tolerance Stack Ups, DVP, etc.
- Design Validation & Verification Reports – Lab requests, Prototyping requests, Simulation requests as required in the project.
Additional information
- Knowledge/Experience of designing parts in Sheet metal, Plastic, Casting, and other manufacturing processes and materials
- Basic knowledge of fundamental engineering principles and tools to verify design for assembly/ Reliability/ Manufacturability/Safety.
- Proficient in GD&T, Design Standards, and variation analysis.
- Basic awareness and understanding of metal, alloy & polymer materials.
- Ability to interpret Simulation / Test results.
- Proficient in the Product Development process.
- Awareness in project planning & management.
- Awareness/hands-on experience on Six Sigma/OPEX/ Lean tools and practices.
